Divas House Show Match In Strasbourg, France 10/31

3. AJ Lee beat Eve and Layla to win the WWE Divas Championship. Just over five minutes of action where the Divas tried hard to get people excited in the match. The crowd never really into the match except for some cheers for AJ. It was a pleasant surprise to see a title change hands on a house show, but it didn't last long. Vickie Guerrero came to the ring and said that the match needed to restart.



Eve beat AJ Lee and Layla in 20 seconds. Vickie Guerrero's arrival get more heat that the entire Divas Match and McGuillycutty/Tensai combined!

Tonight on RAW, Vickie Guerrero announced that AJ Lee would be facing The Glamazon Beth Phoenix in her first match back from resigning as RAW GM.  After a very quick match, AJ won with a roll up.  Vickie than comes out and demands that the match be restarted, leading Beth to hit the Glam Slam and get the 1, 2, 3, for the win.

Molly Holly To Be Honored With Award

The Cauliflower Alley Club, a non-profit fraternal organization comprising both retired and active professional wrestlers and boxers in North America, has announced former WWE Women's Champion Molly Holly as their 2013 Women's Wrestling Honoree. She will receive the award at their next reunion event taking place April 15-17, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Past female grappling honorees include Darling Dagmar, Rockin' Robin and Awesome Kong.

Now 35-years-old, Molly Holly has mostly kept away from the wrestling scene since parting ways with WWE in 2005. Sans a one-night return at WrestleMania XXV, her wrestling-related appearances have been limited to occasional guest referee roles and autograph signings.

For the first time in my life as a casual wrestling fan, I tuned into Monday Night RAW specifically to watch a Divas match. I say specifically because I obviously never complained about watching Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler or Torrie Wilson battle it out back in the day, but this time I was doing it as a brand new superfan of the WWE’s Divas Champion Eve Torres.

Before I had the chance to spend some time talking with her last week, I admittedly didn’t know much about the woman who has held the Divas title more times than any of her peers in the four years since it was created (she’s also tied with four other WWE women’s champions for 4th on the all-time women’s champions list). I knew that Eve was a dancer for the Los Angeles Clippers back when they were still the laughing stock of the NBA and I knew that she had recently won the NBC reality series Stars Earn Stripes.

Mickie James Undergoes Surgery

Mickie James noted on Twitter that she underwent surgery last week. However, she did not detail the nature of the procedure. She says she's "getting better everyday."

The surgery will not keep her out of the ring as she is scheduled to face Taeler Hendrix at USA Championship Wrestling's "Tennessee Homecoming 2012" event this Saturday at the Old Burns Gym in Burns, Tennessee.

Diva Out With Injury

WWE Diva Tamina Snuka is out of action with some kind of injury, possibly to her back. She hasn't been traveling with the WWE crews and hasn't wrestled since the August 20th RAW in the #1 contender's battle royal that was won by Kaitlyn.

Layla Has Wardrobe Malfunction During Title Match

Tonight on RAW during the Divas Championship match, the Challenger Layla while caught in a painful looking submission by Champion Eve Torres, Layla's attire didn't hold up very well.  While in submission, Layla's boob pops out of her wrestling top right when there's a close up of her on the titan tron. This interestingly enough prompted a "this is awesome" chant from the crowd.

WWE has signed fitness competitor and model Alisha Ceraso.  Ceraso, from Connecticut, has already joined WWE’s developmental territory, NXT in Tampa, Florida. She reported to developmental at the same time as Mercedes KV, the independent wrestler that was also recently signed.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated has revealed that Gail Kim has been named #1 in the 2012 PWI Female 50. The Female 50 will be available for digital download on Thursday, October 18, at www.pwi-online.com. It will be released on newsstands later this month.

Tara To Appear On MTV's Made

TNA Knockout Tara will be appearing on the October 19th episode of MTV's Made as she helps an unemployed woman try to become a professional wrestler. Tara tweeted:

"I'm not going to tell you what happens, but it's the first time in MTV history that this happens. You've got to tune in. Very excited!"

Ivelisse Vélez, who was cut from her WWE developmental contract in August, competed in a dark match following Thursday's Impact Wrestling broadcast in Orlando, Florida. Tara noted on her Twitter account that she faced the former Tough Enough contestant, writing, "Don't forget to stay after @IMPACTWRESTLING zone. Tara had a new victim, @realivelisse."

The former Sofia Cortez recently resumed competing at independent wrestling events. She also modified her look shortly after her release as she is now a brunette.

Brittney Savage Tries Out For WWE

Brittney Savage, who has competed for numerous Northeast-based independent wrestling promotions, was among those trying out for WWE at an evaluation session in Tampa, Florida over the weekend. She has appeared for WWE in the past as an enhancement wrestler as she lost to Beth Phoenix on the November 6, 2009 episode of SmackDown. She also competed in a tag team with AJ Lee when the now-popular Diva was an independent wrestler. The Raw General Manager wished Savage well in her tryout, tweeting, "Go kick some ass."
